Covenant Health names chief medical officer

Lubbock, Texas-based Covenant Health has named Lara Johnson, MD, new chief medical officer of its Lubbock service area, KJTV reported Sept. 14.

She joined the health system in 2007 as a physician specializing in general pediatrics and pediatric hospital medicine, which she is also board certified in. 

Dr. Johnson also helped form the pediatric hospital medicine program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, where she will continue to work as a fellowship director and clinical professor.

Her role as chief medical officer at Covenant Health took effect immediately.
