Cone Health appoints system chief health equity officer, hospital CMOs

Greensboro, N.C.-based Cone Health has appointed a system chief health equity officer and named CMOs for three of its hospitals.

Alvin Powell, MD, was selected to serve as chief health equity officer for Cone Health and CMO of Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville, N.C. He is a nephrologist.

Jeffrey Hatcher, MD, was named CMO of Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro. He will also co-lead Cone Health’s work with the Vanderbilt Center for Patient and Professional Advocacy in Nashville, Tenn., focused on improving physician-staff interactions and patient care.

James Wyatt, MD, was named CMO of Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. He previously was a medical director of the trauma program at the hospital.
