Col. John Bartrum joins Squire Patton Boggs healthcare and life sciences industry group: 6 things to know

Col. John Bartrum joined international law firm Squire Patton Boggs as a partner in the healthcare and life sciences industry.

Here are seven things to know about Col. Bartrum.

1. Col. Bartrum, who will work in the firm's District of Columbia office, has more than three decades of healthcare policy and regulatory experience.

2. He served as a senior professional staffer to the U.S. House Appropriations Committee, and was also a member of the federal Senior Executive Service, according to a news release.

3. In his House Appropriations Committee position, Mr. Bartrum played a key role in developing the Ebola supplemental budget, the release states.

4. Col. Bartrum also previously served as part of the National Security Division of the Office of Management and Budget in the Executive Office of the President.

5. Outside of healthcare, he also has more than three decades of military experience in both active duty and as a reserve officer.

6. Mr. Bartrum earned a law degree from George Mason University law school in Arlington, Va., and a master's degree in business administration from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.
