Cleveland Clinic taps submarket president

Brian Harte, MD, has been named president of Cleveland Clinic's east submarket in the Northeast Ohio market, effective Feb. 1.

Dr. Harte will also serve as president of Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, and Mentor (Ohio) Hospital, according to a Dec. 6 news release from the health system. He succeeds Richard Parker, MD, who will retire Jan. 31.

The east submarket includes five hospitals, as well as health centers and outpatient facilities. In his new role, Dr. Harte will focus on enhancing the experience of patients, physicians and caregivers across the submarket.

Dr. Harte has spent more than two decades at Cleveland Clinic and currently serves as president of the south submarket in Northeast Ohio, as well as president of Akron (Ohio) General and Lodi (Ohio) Hospital. An internal search will be conducted to fill those roles, the release said.
