Cleveland Clinic has appointed an interim chief investment officer amid the planned departure of the system’s longtime leader.

Timothy Compan was named to the interim role, effective immediately, a health system spokesperson said in a statement shared with Becker’s on March 24. He brings more than eight years of experience in the system’s investment office, most recently serving as manager director for the Cleveland Clinic Investment Office credit portfolio.

Stefan Strein became the system’s inaugural chief investment officer in 2015 and will depart the organization April 10. He was appointed president, CEO and chief investment officer of Chapel Hill, N.C.-based UNC Management Co., which provides investment management services to the Chapel Hill-based University of North Carolina System and its affiliated endowments and foundations.

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
