Cleveland Clinic names chief strategy officer

Cleveland Clinic has appointed Jim Cotelingam the health system’s permanent chief strategy officer.

Mr. Cotelingam joined Cleveland Clinic as the executive director of strategy in 2019. He has served as interim chief strategy officer since February.

Mr. Cotelingam has more than 20 years of strategic and operations experience in nonprofit healthcare, according to a press release shared with Becker’s Aug. 31. He served as the senior vice president of strategy at Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health. He also served as president and CEO of Trinity Health International in Farmington Hills, Mich., for seven years.

“Jim is a seasoned and thoughtful leader who brings distinguished experience across the healthcare sector,” said James Merlino, MD, Cleveland Clinic’s chief clinical transformation officer. “His insight and leadership will guide the future direction of our enterprise and drive our domestic and international growth strategy.”
