Clearwater Compliance appoints chief business development officer: 4 things to know

Clearwater Compliance, a provider of hospital cybersecurity and compliance solutions, has added to its leadership team by naming Barry Mathis as senior vice president and chief business development officer.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Mathis.

1. At Clearwater Compliance, he will take charge of the company's growth and the advancement of the company's mission, according to a news release. Specifically, he is responsible for understanding evolving customer requirements, identifying new business opportunities and developing strategic relationships. Mr. Mathis also will direct Clearwater Compliance's brand strategy and marketing plan.

2. Mr. Mathis previously served as vice president of business development at HIVE, a private equity backed healthcare IT company, which provides revenue cycle management technology solutions to healthcare providers.

3. At HIVE, Mr. Mathis was instrumental in the development and rollout of a business model the company offers to its clients, and he designed a sales process that has resulted in a total of 16 new clients valued at over $10 million in annual revenue, according to a news release.

4. Mr. Mathis earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Samford University in Birmingham, Ala.
