Joey Hester, CEO of Medical Center Enterprise in Alabama, plans to retire in September after a 50-year healthcare career, according to a hospital news release shared with Becker’s.
Mr. Hester joined the 131-bed hospital, part of Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems, in 2022 after serving as interim CEO of North Okaloosa Medical Center in Crestview, Fla.
Before that, he held operational leadership roles at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley, Ala., and Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Ala., according to his LinkedIn profile.
His successor has not yet been named. The hospital said members of its board, medical staff and administration will participate in the search process.
