Mr. Karam is leaving to serve as senior vice president of group operations at Irving, Texas-based Christus Health and president and CEO of Christus St. Francis Cabrini Health System in Alexandria, La.
Mr. Karam became CEO of Christus St. Michael in 2003, prior to which he served as the organization’s vice president. In all, he has spent 32 years working within the Christus system, serving in several leadership roles, such as CEO of Christus St. Michael Rehabilitation Hospital in Texarkana.
Jason Rounds, Christus St. Michael’s COO, will take over as interim CEO.
