Children’s National chief people officer to join UChicago Medicine

Gina Cronin has been appointed senior vice president and chief human resources officer of University of Chicago Medicine, effective Oct. 19.

Ms. Cronin currently serves as executive vice president and chief people officer at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C., where she oversees human resources, workforce well-being, talent acquisition and labor relations, according to an Aug. 14 UChicago Medicine internal memo from President Tom Jackiewicz that was shared with Becker’s.

She has more than 30 years of healthcare human resources and operational leadership experience. Before joining Children’s National, Ms. Cronin spent more than two decades at Cleveland Clinic, where she held senior operational leadership roles before becoming chief talent officer.

At UChicago Medicine, she will oversee enterprise-wide HR strategy and operations, including talent strategy, workforce planning, leadership development, employee and labor relations, compensation, benefits, HR technology and culture initiatives.
