Children’s Mercy names chief people officer

Kansas City, Mo.-based Children’s Mercy has appointed Michelle Wimes as its permanent chief people officer, effective immediately.

Ms. Wimes previously served as the organization’s senior vice president and chief equity and inclusion officer for five years, according to an Oct. 20 Children’s Mercy news release. She stepped into the interim chief people officer role in July.

Before joining Children’s Mercy, she was chief diversity and professional development officer at Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, PC, a labor and employment law firm, where she led national talent development efforts across the firm’s 53 offices.
