Little Rock-based Arkansas Children’s has named endocrinologist Ryan McDonough, DO, as chief medical officer for its Northwest Hospital in Springdale, Ark.

Dr. McDonough most recently served as chief medical informatics officer and senior medical director at Children’s Mercy in Kansas City, Mo. He was also co-medical director of the Children’s Diabetes Center, according to a news release.

At Arkansas Children’s, Dr. McDonough succeeds Rob Williams, MD, who has transitioned back to full-time clinical practice in Northwest Hospital’s emergency department.

Arkansas Children’s Northwest Hospital, a Level IV pediatric trauma center, operates a 25-bed inpatient unit and is the region’s only pediatric emergency department, according to the release.
