Mr. Peterson previously served as president and COO of Atlanta-based Emory Healthcare. He spent 16 years with the system, including time spent as its interim CEO.

Children’s Health is licensed for 562 beds and hosts more than 900,000 patient visits annually. It includes approximately 8,400 employees and 1,200 medical and dental staff members.
