The date Mr. Cordova’s retirement will take effect was not provided, but CHLA is engaging a national search to identify his successor. He will remain in his role during the interim.
Mr. Cordova joined CHLA in 2005 as president and COO, assuming the roles of president and CEO in 2006. He previously worked for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals, San Francisco General Hospital, San Francisco Public Health Authority, the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, General Hospital of Los Angeles County and Olive View Medical Center in Sylmar, Calif.
Mr. Cordova is currently the chair-elect for the American College of Healthcare Executives. He will begin service as ACHE chair in March 2015.
