CEO of Palmdale Regional Medical Center to retire

Richard Allen is stepping down from his position as CEO of the Palmdale Regional Medical Center in Palmdale, Calif. 

Mr. Allen has led the 184-bed acute care hospital for almost 10 years but has a career in healthcare administration for over 40 years, including many leadership positions, according to the May 6 press release. He has also been in leadership roles at the American Hospital Association, the California Hospital Association and the Kansas Hospital Association. 

"We appreciate Dick's commitment to Palmdale Regional and the healthcare of the Antelope Valley and thank him for his many contributions. His leadership in business development and hospital services expansion will be felt for many years to come," Richard Norris, chairman of the board of Palmdale Regional said in the release. "Dick's retirement is well earned and on behalf of the board, I wish him all the best as he begins new adventures."
