CEO of Hiawatha Community Hospital, Roger Barnhart, resigns: 3 points

Hiawatha (Kan.) Community Hospital CEO Roger Barnhart resigned, less than two months from when he began his duties, according to a News Press Now report.

1. Mr. Barnhart succeeded longtime CEO John Moore on July 1. Mr. Moore had served as CEO of the community hospital for 20 years.

2. Hospital officials have not given a reason for Mr. Barnhart’s resignation.

3. In a statement, hospital officials note the hospital’s board has accepted Mr. Barnhart’s resignation and that “an executive team consisting of selected hospital staff members has been appointed to act in the interim while the board initiates a new CEO search process,” according to the report.
