Here are four notes:
1. Providence made the decision to restructure as it is focusing “on new ways to deliver healthcare in a rapidly changing environment,” according to a hospital statement.
2. Prior to his current role, Mr. Jackson served Providence hospitals in Oregon for more than 15 years, including as COO of Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Ore.
3. Peg Currie, RN, current COO for Providence in eastern Washington, will expand her role and oversee day-to-day operations for Sacred Heart Medical Center and Holy Family Hospital.
4. Providence Health & Services Eastern Washington/Montana Chief Executive Elaine Couture will continue in her role, which also includes responsibility for the success of the two Spokane-based hospitals.
“One of the ways Providence is adapting to a new environment is by adopting contemporary organizational and leadership structures that support patient needs across all of our facilities and services — from primary care and specialty physician services, to urgent care clinics and hospitals,” said Ms. Couture in the statement.
