Mr. Churchill became interim leader of Franklin Community Health Network in 2016 and was named to the top post permanently in 2018. He has led Western Maine Health for 23 years, continuing to serve as its leader when he took on responsibilities for Franklin Community Health Network. Both Franklin Community Health Network and Western Maine Health are part of Portland-based MaineHealth.
Prior to joining Western Maine Health and its flagship, Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway, in 1996, Mr. Churchill gained experience serving as president of the Osteopathic Medical Center of Philadelphia and president of Windber (Pa.) Medical Center.
He holds an MBA from the University of Maine in Orono.
Franklin Community Health Network will establish a search committee by April 30 to find a new leader. The organization’s board has decided that it will search for a president and CEO to oversee Franklin Health Community Health Network alone, instead of a joint leader with Western Maine Health.
