Mr. Smith will begin his new role on Feb. 27 following the retirement of Nelson Lazo, according to a Jan. 26 news release.
Most recently, Mr. Smith has served as regional CEO of Broward Health Coral Springs (Fla.).
Bethesda Hospital East and Bethesda Hospital West are part of Coral Gables-based Baptist Health South Florida.
