Centura Health appoints Edward Sim group president of Mountains & North Denver Operating Group; CEO of St. Anthony Hospital: 5 takeaways

Centennial, Colo.-based Centura Health named Edward H. Sim group president of its Mountains and North Denver Operating Group and CEO of St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, effective Jan. 3, 2017.

Here are five takeaways:

1. Mr. Sims previously worked with Baptist Health in Jacksonville, Fla., where he most recently served as president of physician integration.

2. He also served as president of a community hospital and vice president of operations at a tertiary care facility within the Baptist Health system.

3. Prior to joining Baptist Health, he served in strategy, business development and operations roles with Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare.

4. The Mountains and North Denver Operating Group, which Mr. Sims will oversee, includes five Colorado-based hospitals as well as neighborhood health centers, emergency and urgent care centers, outpatient surgery centers and physician practices.

5. Mr. Sims holds a master of business administration degree with a concentration in health sector management from Durham, N.C.-based Duke University.
