Cedars-Sinai names 1st chief health equity officer, new chief nursing executive: 6 notes

Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai Medical Center named Linda Burnes Bolton, DrPH, RN, its inaugural chief health equity officer.

Six notes:

1. Dr. Burnes Bolton has worked at Cedars-Sinai since 1976, working her way up to senior vice president of nursing, director of nursing research and system chief nursing executive.

2. She is co-investigator of the regional Collaborative Alliance for Nursing Outcomes research team.

3. She is a past president of the American Organization of Nurse Executives and received the 2016 TRUST Award from the American Hospital Association. She is also a member of the National Academy of Medicine.

4. David R. Marshall, DNP, RN, will succeed Dr. Burnes Bolton as senior vice president and system chief nursing executive.

5. He is currently system chief nursing and patient care services executive at University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and will join Cedars-Sinai June 3.

6. An American Organization of Nurse Executives board of directors member, Dr. Marshall is also currently serving on the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Magnet Recognition Program.
