Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, N.Y., selected Jonathan Schiller as its new CEO, effective June 26, according a Times Herald-Record report.
Here are five things to know:
1. Mr. Schiller most recently served as interim CFO of Middletown, N.Y.-based Greater Hudson Valley Health System, Catskill Regional's parent. James Grigg will take over as interim CFO until the health system identifies a permanent finance leader.
2. He joined Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown, another Greater Hudson Valley Health System facility in 2004. He has served as the medical center's administrator of revenue cycle management.
3. He replaces Gerald Galarneau, MD, who served as Catskill Regional CEO and CMO since 2013.
4. Dr. Galarneau is leaving his CEO role to serve as president of the GHVHS Medical Group. He will continue as Catskill Regional's CMO.
5. Mr. Schiller holds a master's degree in health systems administration from Rochester (N.Y.) Institute of Technology.
