Catholic Health Services of Long Island reshuffles 4 leadership roles

Rockville Centre, N.Y.-based Catholic Health Services of Long Island announced four leadership changes.

CHSLI named Ron Steimel senior vice president for business development. He was previously president of Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre.

Peter Scaminaci, executive vice president and chief administrative officer at Bethpage, N.Y.-based St. Joseph Hospital, will succeed Ron Steimel. He will continue in his role at St. Joseph, taking on responsibility for both hospitals

Ruth E. Hennessey will serve as president of West Islip, N.Y.-based Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center. Ms. Hennessey most recently served as executive vice president and chief administrative officer at St. Francis Hospital, The Heart Center in Roslyn, N.Y.

Ms. Hennessey previously served as senior vice president for administration at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Charles Lucore, MD, former president and CEO of HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Ill., is replacing Ms. Hennessey.

Finally, James O’Connor, executive vice president and chief administrative officer at St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson, N.Y., was promoted to president of the hospital.
