Carrie Owen Plietz. CEO of Sutter Medical Center (Sacramento, Calif.). In 1999, Ms. Plietz joined Sutter Health as an administrative resident in California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. Since then, she has served in a variety of roles within Sutter Health, including COO of Sutter-affiliated Miss-Peninsula Health Services in Burlingame, Calif., where she oversaw EHR implementation, Sutter’s first acute care installation. Now 39, Ms. Plietz has a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification. She is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, holds a master’s degree in health administration and completed a fellowship in health law at Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. Since being named a 2014 Rising Star by Becker’s Healthcare, she has joined the board of directors for the March of Dimes.
