Carolinas HealthCare System names Maureen Swick system nurse executive

Charlotte, N.C.-based Carolinas HealthCare System tapped Maureen Swick, MSN, PhD, RN, to serve as system nurse executive.

Ms. Swick most recently served as CEO of the American Organization of Nurse Executives and chief nursing officer at the American Hospital Association. Previously, she was system CNO at Falls Church, Va.-based Inova Health System. She has more than 30 years of nurse leadership experience.

In her new role, Ms. Swick will lead 16,000 nurses in the Carolinas HealthCare System and oversee nursing policy, strategy and quality for the system.
