Canopy Health taps former Aetna executive as CEO: 3 takeaways

Canopy Health, a healthcare alliance comprising 18 hospitals across the San Francisco Bay Area, named Mike Robinson CEO.

Established in 2015, Canopy Health is an affiliation between University of California of San Francisco Health and Walnut Creek, Calif.-based John Muir Health.

Three takeaways:

1. Mr. Robinson previously spent 22 years working Aetna, serving in several leadership roles, including as vice president of national accounts for the West Region and vice president of national accounts network strategy.

2. He serves on the Canopy Health board and is a former chair of John Muir Health’s board of directors.

3. He takes over from Joel Criste, who will assist with the transition.
