Cannon Memorial Hospital CEO Norm Rentz to retire in November

Norm Rentz, CEO of Cannon Memorial Hospital in Pickens, S.C., announced his retirement, according to a Pickens Sentinel report. He will retire effective Nov. 1, after more than two decades at the helm of the hospital.

Mr. Rentz was named CEO in 1992. During his tenure, the hospital added a new emergency department and a number of physician practices. The hospital also implemented an electronic health record system under his leadership. In November, he will transition to a consultant role with the Cannon Memorial Foundation.

The hospital named Brandon Clary to succeed Mr. Rentz as CEO. He is currently the CEO of Elbert Memorial Hospital in Elberton, Ga. He will maintain his CEO position at Elbert Memorial while taking on the new position at Cannon, according to the report.
