Los Angeles County Approves Seven Board Members for MLK Jr. Hospital

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has approved seven board members for Willowbrook’s new Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital, which is scheduled to open in 2013, according to an Southern California Public Radio report.

The board members include Manuel Abascal, attorney and partner at Latham and Watkins office in Los Angeles; Elaine Batchor, head medical officer at L.A. Care Health Plan; and Robert Margolis of HealthCare Partners in Torrence, Calif; Linda Griego, president and CEO of Griego Enterprises; Paul King, president and CEO of Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles Medical Group; Michael Madden, former CEO of Providence Healthcare of Southern California; and James Yoshioka, former president and CEO of Citrus Valley Health Partners.

The approval vote comes on the eve of the 45th anniversary of the 1965 Watts Riots in Los Angeles.
