Mr. Rees currently serves as CEO of Pershing General Hospital in Lovelock, Nev. He will likely start work at Mayers in early September, according to the report.
According to the report, Mr. Rees will receive a $170,000 salary with up to $15,000 in annual bonuses. He will be paid $14,000 more a year than previous CEO Katherine Ann Campbell, who resigned in February.

Following Ms. Campbell’s resignation, the hospital board spent several months exploring a partnership with regional hospital chains, hoping to cut costs. All the hospital chains the board approached declined the offer.
