Marc Mertz was appointed CEO of Visalia, Calif.-based Kaweah Health, effective Dec. 22.
Mr. Mertz succeeds Gary Herbst, who is retiring after more than three decades with the publicly-owned community healthcare organization.
Mr. Mertz has been Kaweah Health’s chief strategy officer since 2018, according to a health system news release.
Before joining Kaweah Health, he was vice president and physician services practice leader at GE Healthcare (formerly The Camden Group) in El Segundo, Calif.
