Greg Rodriguez ended his role June 11 as board director of Palm Springs, Calif.-based Desert Healthcare District and Foundation Board to pursue plans to become the district’s new CEO, according to a news release.
The news comes after the Desert Healthcare District’s board of directors unanimously voted May 26 to terminate its CEO Chris Christensen.
Mr. Rodriguez was elected as board vice president in 2024 and again in 2025. He has also been a deputy director for government affairs and community engagement since 2022 for Riverside County’s Housing and Workforce Solutions Department, the release said.
“It has truly been a pleasure to serve alongside my fellow Board members and to have the incredible support of the Desert Healthcare District & Foundation staff,” Mr. Rodriguez said in an email addressed to board members and staff, the release said. “I can’t thank you all enough for the camaraderie and the vision we have all shared on the amazing things that are going to happen as the District moves forward.”
