Broward Health appoints acting CEO following leader's death: 3 things to know

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Broward Health has appointed COO Kevin Fusco as acting president and CEO to step in for the late Nabil El Sanadi, MD, according to a Sun Sentinel report.

Here are three things to know about the appointment.

1. The Broward Health board voted to appoint Mr. Fusco as acting president and CEO this week.

2. Mr. Fusco's appointment comes days after Broward Health's former president and CEO Dr. Sanadi was found dead in his condominium from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

3. In addition to appointing Mr. Fusco, the Broward Health board discussed conducting a broad national search and spending time to find a permanent successor to Dr. El Sanadi, according to the Sun Sentinel.
