Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center CEO Steps Down, COO Promoted

Thomas Ockers, CEO of Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in Patchogue, N.Y., has announced he will step down in 2013 and be replaced by Richard Margulis, the hospital's COO, according to a Long Island Newsday report.

Mr. Margulis will take over the position in April 2013 after a six-month transition period. Mr. Ockers will serve as a hospital consultant for the next two years, according to the report.

Mr. Ockers has led the hospital since 1991. Mr. Margulis has been with the hospital since 1982 and has served as COO since 2006.
