Brad Simmons to serve as interim CEO of UC Davis Medical Center

Sacramento, Calif.-based UC Davis Health named Brad Simmons interim CEO of UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. The appointment is pending approval by the UC Regents, which is expected in October.

Mr. Simmons has worked at UC Davis since 2016, when he joined the medical center as COO. He was previously COO of Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., and senior vice president of medicine, surgical and emergency trauma services at Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas.

Mr. Simmons is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a member of the American Leadership Forum-Sacramento.

He succeeds Ann Madden Rice, who is leaving to become president of Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
