Bowie Memorial Hospital names interim leader: 4 things to know

Bowie (Texas) Memorial Hospital has named Ernie Parisi interim CEO, according to a Times Record News report.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Parisi.

1. Mr. Parisi will serve as interim leader while the BMH board pursues a hospital district election. He has been in the role about two weeks, stepping in following the resignation of interim CEO Lynn Heller last month, according to the report.

2. Mr. Parisi is a retired administrator who works with hospitals through the Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals.

3. Mr. Parisi has a history of working with BMH, which has experienced ongoing cash flow problems. He consulted with BMH when he served as president of TORCH and the hospital was recruiting its former CEO, Joyce Crumpler. He also worked with Ms. Crumpler’s successor, Kim Lee, prior to the last hospital district election in 2011.

4. TORCH pays Mr. Parisi’s salary and benefits, while BMH pays a monthly fee to TORCH.
