Bon Secours Virginia selects Paul Gaden as CEO of 2 hospitals: 5 notes

Richmond-based Bon Secours Virginia appointed Paul Gaden CEO of Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, Va., and Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center in Norfolk, Va.

Here are five notes:

1. Mr. Gaden most recently served as CEO of Providence (Ore.) Portland Medical Center and the Oregon Eastern region for Renton, Wash.-based Providence Health & Services.

2. He previously served as finance manager at Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center in Midlothian, Va.

3. He also worked as COO for three Corpus Christi, Texas-based Christus Spohn Health System facilities.

4. In his new role, Mr. Gaden will oversee operations at Maryview Medical Center and DePaul Medical Center, working in close collaboration with John Barrett, CEO for DePaul Medical. He will also serve as the executive leader for surgical services across Bon Secours Virginia.

5. He will join Bon Secours April 2.
