Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital selects new chief nursing officer: 3 points

Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, Va., appointed Jody Bishop, BSN, MSN, vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer, according to a Richmond Times-Dispatch report.

Here are three points:

1. Ms. Bishop most recently served as administrative director of the hospital.

2. She previously served as administrative director of nursing resources, women’s and children’s services and nursing professional practice at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Md.

3. Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital was the first community hospital in Richmond to achieve Magnet recognition by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in 2008. The American College of Surgeons also designated it a comprehensive cancer center.
