Bon Secours Mercy COO to retire

Don Kline, COO of Cincinnati-based Bon Secours Mercy Health, has shared plans to retire at the end of 2025 after serving 30 years in healthcare, 17 of them at BSMH.

Wael Haidar, MD, has been named president of clinical operations prior to Mr. Kline’s retirement to oversee all BSMH domestic market clinical and operational functions, according to a June 26 news release shared with Becker’s.

Mr. Kline has served as BSMH’s COO since 2022 and joined Mercy Health in 2007. He served multiple years as system CFO for markets, and in 2015 became president of the Youngstown, Ohio market. He also provided leadership to Ohio, South Carolina and New York BSMH markets during his tenure. 

Prior to joining BSMH, Mr. Kline served asCFO for Heritage Valley Health System and Trinity Health System. 

“[Mr.] Kline will continue to provide executive oversight for key areas of the ministry, including Bon Secours – Ireland, ambulatory services, urgent care, occupational health and strategic partnerships through 2025,” as a result.
