Behavioral health system CEO resigns after 8 months in role

John Boyd, PsyD, has resigned as president and CEO of Oconomowoc, Wis.-based Rogers Behavioral Health.

Dr. Boyd's resignation was effective May 31, spokesperson Anne Ballentine confirmed to Becker's.

The resignation comes more than a year after Dr. Boyd joined Rogers Behavioral Health in January 2022. He initially joined the behavioral health system as CEO of Rogers' hospital division, according to his LinkedIn profile. He became president and CEO of the system in October 2022. Pat Hammer, former president and CEO, announced his retirement in May 2022 after a decade in that role.

Before joining Rogers Behavioral Health, Dr. Boyd held positions at Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health.

Rogers Behavioral Health has selected COO Cindy Meyer to serve as interim president and CEO.

Ms. Ballentine said Ms. Meyer is a strong leader with a long and successful track record in behavioral healthcare.

Rogers Behavioral Health includes three inpatient hospitals, 21 outpatient centers, 17 residential programs and more than 40 unique partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs, according to its website.
