Beebe Healthcare appoints executive director of orthopedic services: 4 things to know

Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, Del., has appointed Joseph DeRanieri, DM, MSN, RN, executive director of orthopedic services.

Here are four things to know about Dr. DeRanieri.

1. In his new role, he will coordinate and lead the development of strategies, growth of the clinical enterprise, network affiliations, as well as integration of orthopedic programs across Beebe Healthcare.

2. Prior to Beebe Healthcare, Dr. DeRanieri was an assistant professor at the University of Delaware in Newark where he served as the coordinator of the graduate health services administration and as a financial consultant for the Newark-based Nurse Managed Health Care Center.

3. Dr. DeRanieri is a published author on healthcare topics. This includes a recent collaborative article on emergency preparedness published in Procedia — Social and Behavioral Sciences in 2015.

4. He completed the Doctorate of Management program at the Institute for Advanced Studies and Colorado Springs-based Colorado Technical University in 2008. He earned a Master of Science degree in Nursing at New Castle, Del.-based Wilmington University, and completed his nursing degree at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance/healthcare administration and an associate degree in liberal arts, both from New York (City) University.
