Beaufort Memorial names new CFO

Beaufort (S.C.) Memorial Hospital has named Christine Markowitz senior vice president and CFO. 

Ms. Markowitz joins Beaufort Memorial with more than three decades of financial leadership experience, according to an Oct. 3 news release from the hospital. She comes to the organization from Sovah Health, where she served as market CFO for its campuses in Danville and Martinsville, Va. Sovah Health is part of Brentwood, Tenn.-based Lifepoint Health.

She also previously held hospital CFO roles with Brentwood, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems, according to her LinkedIn page. 

“In the rapidly expanding Lowcountry, the need for superior healthcare remains at an all-time high,” Ms. Markowitz said in the release. “Securing Beaufort Memorial’s financial future with a strong, foundational approach is my principal goal.”
