Beaufort Memorial CEO to leave position this year: 5 things to know

Rick Toomey, president and CEO of  Beaufort (S.C.) Memorial Hospital, will leave his post at the end of 2016.

Here are five things to know about Mr. Toomey.

1. He is resigning after more than eight years of leading BMH.

2. During his tenure, the hospital has had numerous accomplishments, such as the establishment of a robotic surgery program, the opening of a wound care center, the renovations and expansions of both the PrattEmergencyCenter and intensive care unit and the opening of the women’s imaging center.

3. BMH did not provide details surrounding Mr. Toomey’s departure.

4. Of his departure, Mr. Toomey said, “It has been an honor to work with the medical staff, employees, volunteers and leaders of Beaufort Memorial, and I could not be prouder of the work we’ve accomplished together during my tenure.”

5. Prior to BMH, Mr. Toomey was executive vice president and, later, president of Rocky Mount, N.C.-based Nash Health Care System.
