Here are three things to know about Ms. Russo.
1. She began her new job May 31, taking over for Thomas Higgins, MD, who had served as interim president since June 2015. Dr. Higgins’ role as the hospital’s CMO will now be expanded to include oversight at Baystate Noble Hospital in Westfield, Mass.
2. Prior to joining Baystate Franklin Medical Center, Ms. Russo was vice president of operations for the central region at Hartford (Conn.) HealthCare. In addition to her oversight of operations, Ms. Russo was regional executive for emergency services, surgical, gastroenterology, orthopedics neurosciences and behavioral health services, information services, facilities and support services.
3. Ms. Russo is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in health administration at Capella University, based in Minneapolis.
