Ms. Brody plans to resign after the system’s sale to Naples, Fla.-based Health Management Associates is complete. HMA plans to purchase an 80 percent stake in a joint venture to operate Bayfront Health System. The city council could vote on the deal as soon as today, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Ms. Brody has been with Bayfront since 1987. It was her choice to step down after sale, and she will not continue in any capacity at Bayfront after her resignation, according to the report.
