Kriel Ramcharitar, MD, has joined Clearwater, Fla.-based BayCare as vice president and chief medical officer for value-based care.
In this role, Dr. Ramcharitar will work with the health system’s physician enterprise, payers and community partners to advance value-based care delivery. He will oversee the development of processes and structures to establish new care models and support value-based care strategies, according to a May 21 news release.
Dr. Ramcharitar will co-lead the value-based care division at the 16-hospital system with the COO and president of BayCare Select Health Plan.
Dr. Ramcharitar most recently served as a faculty member at Thomas Jefferson University’s College of Public Health in Philadelphia. He previously was vice president and CMO of Memorial Hermann Health System’s accountable care organization and population health service organization in Houston.
