Bassett Healthcare Network names new COO: 4 things to know

Cooperstown, N.Y.-based Bassett Healthcare Network has named Andrew Manzer executive vice president and COO, effective March 1, according to a news release.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Manzer.

1. In his new role, he is responsible for the operating performance of Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, and for leading operational efficiencies and performance across the Bassett network. 

2. Bassett officials said he will also help "to envision and create models of operational integration, structures and systems that will best position the network for success."

3. Mr. Manzer comes to Bassett from Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls, N.Y., where he was president and CEO since 2011. There, he led Schuyler Hospital's successful affiliation and merger with Cayuga Health System in Ithaca, N.Y., serving as system vice president since 2014 in addition to retaining his role as CEO at Schuyler.

4. He earned a master's degree in health services administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and a bachelor's degree in health services administration from Ithaca College.
