Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis (Tenn.) has named Daniel McFarland its new chief operating officer, according to a Sept. 3 post on his LinkedIn page.
Mr. McFarland joins the hospital from New Brunswick, N.J.-based Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he served as assistant vice president of operations since November 2024.
He previously served as service line administrator of digestive health, neurosciences and spine services at Boston-based Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He also previously served as assistant administrator of The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
Mr. McFarland returns to the hospital after serving as a summer administrative resident earlier in his career.
“This hospital was pivotal in the early years of my career as it displayed a commitment to render high-quality patient care while inviting a mindset of continuous operational improvement,” he said in his LinkedIn post. “I am now honored to have the opportunity to serve this same culture with a new perspective of best practices learned.”
