Baptist Health promotes 2 women to system leadership roles

Little Rock, Ark.-based Baptist Health has promoted two women to system leadership roles.

Joni Stephenson was promoted to corporate vice president of human resources, and HyeJin Son, PharmD, was named corporate vice president for oncology services, according to an Aug. 1 system news release.

Ms. Stephenson has served in human resources roles for more than two decades, including 16 years at Baptist Health. 

Most recently, she served as corporate director of human resources, responsible for talent acquisition, compensation, Americans with Disabilities Act/Family and Medical Leave Act/unemployment, as well as employee branding, the release said. In her new role, she will be responsible for the entire human resources department.

Dr. Son joined Baptist Health in 2011, most recently serving as director of pharmacy for Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock since 2019.

As corporate vice president for oncology services, she will lead the development of a comprehensive systemwide strategic plan for cancer services and procedures and oversee financial performance, among other responsibilities, according to the release.

Baptist Health is a 12-hospital system with approximately 11,000 employees.
