Baptist Health hires Rick Carrico as its new CFO

Louisville, Ky.-based Baptist Health has hired Rick Carrico as its new CFO, replacing Steve Oglesby, who is retiring.

Mr. Carrico, a Kentucky native, moves from his current role at WakeMed Health and Hospitals in Raleigh, N.C., where he is executive vice president and CFO for the 941-bed system.

Mr. Carrico's appointment comes at a time of increasing financial pressure on hospital systems, and his experience in areas such as bond rating agencies, strategy development and investment management will be much needed, Baptist CEO Gerard Colman said.

"Given the challenges of today's healthcare industry, I look forward to furthering Baptist Health’s mission to provide high quality care and improve the health of the Kentucky and southern Indiana communities they serve," Mr. Carrico said in a Dec. 7 Baptist Health news release.

Baptist Health employs more than 23,000 people in Kentucky and surrounding states, operating eight owned hospitals and other facilities.
