Banner hospital taps chief nursing officer

Tucson, Ariz.-based Banner-University Medicine named Beth Draves, RN, chief nursing officer.

Ms. Draves has been serving as interim chief nursing officer for the past year, according to a Sept. 2 system news release. She joined the academic medical center in 2018 and has held leadership roles in the emergency department, behavioral health and clinical operations. 

As CNO, Ms. Draves will focus on streamlining education and hands-on training for patient care teams, support Tucson-based Banner-University Medical Center South’s pursuit of Magnet recognition and urge nurses to take roles in committees, research and quality-improvement initiatives.
